Andrews – A benefit for baby Silas Morrow and family raised $5,500 on Saturday to help cover his many medical expenses not covered by insurance, according to Kelly Bryant, who took care of all donations at the event.
Sponsored by A&J Adventures & More Auction House owners Annette Palmer and Julie Pendergrass, the event was held “because God put it on our hearts to help this family,” Palmer said.
“Many of their expenses for Silas aren’t covered by standard insurance, and they have to travel often because of his condition so we decided to help,” she said.
Local band Sundown performed during most of the afternoon. Musician Colton James also put in a surprise appearance.
The Morrows, who were able to attend the event with Silas in tow, expressed thanks to the community for thinking of them and praised God for the financial relief during their ongoing medical struggles.
