Caleb Stiles
Robbinsville – The Republican contender for the office of Graham County sheriff emerged March 3, as did the next three commissioners.
Caleb Stiles received 649 votes in the primary election to win the GOP nod, besting a field that also included Cody George (489), Joseph Jones (384), Terry Grey (222), Leon Allen (124) and Mitch Millsaps (69). The current Andrews police chief, Stiles will face Democrat Reba “LouAnn” McMahan in the Tuesday, Nov. 4, general election.
“I’m nervous,” Stiles said moments after seeing the results of the race projected at the Graham County Board of Elections Office. “I’m going to depend on the ones who are there – a lot – to help me. No sheriff ever made it unless he surrounded himself with people that he could depend on.”
