ANDREWS
Swain tops Cats
On April 16, the Andrews baseball team fell to Swain County 14-3 in five innings.
Swain scored three innings on each of the first three innings and added five more in the fourth. The Wildcats tried to stop the bleeding with three runs in the top of the fourth. Andrews could not come up with enough runs in the top of the fifth, and Swain closed out the game to win 14-3.
The Lady Wildcats’ softball team also faced Swain that day and lost 10-0. Swain got their bats going early with four runs in the first and three in the second to lead 7-0 through two innings. After a scoreless frame from both teams, Swain added three more runs over the fourth and fifth inning to win the game.
On Thursday, the Andrews baseball and softball teams will head to Hayesville to take on the Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m.
