RALEIGH

Mugharbil to N.C. State

Murphy alum Yousef Mugharbil is walking onto the N.C. State football team this fall, according to On3 reporter Matt Zenitz.

This will be Mugharbil’s third school after previous stops at the University of Florida and University of Colorado. Mugharbil was the No. 33 offensive lineman in the Class of 2021, according to the 247 Sports Composite, eventually signing with the Gators. He redshirted his first year in Gainesville after suffering serious injuries in a motor-scooter accident, then did not play in his redshirt freshman season.

He entered the transfer portal in December 2022, eventually landing at Colorado. Mugharbil was only in Boulder for last spring before re-entering the portal again and landing in Raleigh.

Mugharbil’s new home stadium is also where he played the final game of his high school career. That was a 14-7 Murphy win over Northside-Pinetown in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A state championship in May 2021.
