County swim season starts

Both Murphy and Tri-County Early College swimmers competed in their first meet of the season at Franklin on Nov. 19. The Lady Jaguars placed second out of five teams, while the Lady Bulldogs placed fourth.

Tri-County men

  • Nathan Abejam placed third in the 200-yard freestyle and fifth in the 100 backstroke.
  • Landen Spies placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke and ninth in the 50 freestyle.
  • William Boyd placed eighth in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 100 freestyle.
  • Nathan Downs, Abejam, Boyd and Spies combined to place fifth in the 200 free relay.

Tri-County women

  • Ariana Rivas placed first in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.
  • Fern Crayton placed second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 individual medley.
  • MaryLynn Hulsey placed fifth in the 100 back and ninth in the 50 freestyle.
  • Tori Higdon placed fifth in the 100 freestyle.
  • Tina Trigueros placed sixth in the 100 freestyle and 10th in the 100 freestyle.
  • Revis, Crayton, Trigueros and Diaz-Menchu finished second in the 200 free relay, while Crayton, Crocker, Revis and Hulsey finished fourth in the 400 free relay.

 

Murphy women

  • Kirra Talent placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke and sixth in the 50 freestyle.
  • Olivia Raxter placed fourth in the 100 freestyle, seventh in the 50 freestyle.
  • Kaydence Walton placed third in the 100 freestyle and eighth in the 50 freestyle.
  • Ella Conley placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke.
  • Kaylee Lovingood placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke.
