Blue Ridge Ga. – The Fannin County Lady Rebels took a 78-18 basketball scrimmage win over Andrews on Nov. 15. 

The Lady Rebels controlled the game from the opening tip, never giving up the advantage. Fannin County had four assists in the first quarter, as they outscored Andrews 23-3.

Leading 36-11, the Lady Rebels went on a 22-2 run to pull further away. The halftime score was 46-11. Fannin County played hot defense, blocking six shots and grabbing 20 steals. All together, Fannin snagged 40 rebounds. Courtney Davis scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. 

Offensively, the Lady Rebels passed the ball well with 11 assists on 30 made baskets.

Maggie Ledford had 14 points. Izzie Jabaley scored 11 points followed by Reese Lewis with 10.  Emma Holloway and Macy Hawkins both scored 6 points. Emma Buchanan put in 4 points. Avi Ethington added a three pointer, while Albany Cole and Jace Sanderson each had 2 points. 

In the boys game, Fannin County beat Andrews 64-53. 

Senior Ben Bloch led the Rebels with
24 points, followed by Jordan Richerson with 16. Freshman Kolton Kaylor put
up nine points. Matthew Ponton gave
the Rebels six points. Hudson Ethington added five points, while Cole Gribble put in four. 

Gribble snagged seven rebounds to lead the Rebels. Kaylor got in on the action with five rebounds. 

Richerson led in steals and assists with three and four, respectively. 

Fannin County officially opened their season on the road against Pickens County after press time Monday. Andrews plays at Blue Ridge on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
