Hiwassee Dam – The Lady Eagles suffered their second straight loss last week when they hosted the Lady Black Knights.
Despite two home runs from Olivia McNabb, they Lady Eagles couldn’t come away with the victory.
On April 16, the Lady Eagles suffered a 14-2 loss to Robbinsville. Despite the loss, Olivia McNabb’s bat was on fire as she had two home runs. Her first homer came in the leadoff spot, while her second came in the third inning.
Robbinsville got the scoring going early with two runs in the first inning. They tacked on two more in the second inning and added six more in the third. They capped off their 14-run game with four more in the fifth inning.
Hiwassee Dam scored two runs courtesy of McNabb’s two home runs. They also had five hits, but also had four errors. McNabb was hot at the plate going 2-3. Brinkley Payne, Avery McNabb and Bella Stiles had one hit each.
On the mound, Olivia McNabb pitched the first four innings, with Avery McNabb and Olivia Williams closing the game. Olivia McNabb gave up 10 runs on four hits and eight walks. She also had eight strikeouts. Avery McNabb gave up one run on one hit and had two walks. Williams gave up three runs on one hit and two walks.
They were scheduled to face Robbinsville again on April 19, but the game was canceled due to wet field condition in Robbinsville. Their next game is scheduled for Thursday, when they will head to Copper Basin, Tenn.
The Lady Eagles wrap up their week Friday, when they host Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. On Monday, they will host Bradley Central at 5 p.m. in their final non-conference game of the season.
