Hayesville – The Chatuge Shores Men’s Golf League held its annual President’s Cup Tournament on July 5.
Richard “Woody” Woodruff sponsored and organized the event. Club President Jerry Couse announced the winners:
- Individual first place – Frank Geddings, with a net score of 67.
- Team first place – Geddings and Richard Purdy, with a best-ball team total net score of 60.
There were a total of four team, five individual and two closest-to-the-pin cash awards.
The summer season of the Chatuge Men’s Golf League plays at 8:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through September. The winter season runs from October through March.
The Men’s League welcomes any level of golfers to join the group. Members are from Cherokee and Clay counties in North Carolina, as well as Towns and Union counties in Georgia.
Annual dues for the men’s league are $35, which includes a luncheon in September. The non-member course fee to play is $35 per round, which includes a cart. Members of the Chatuge Shores Golf Club pay a reduced or no course fee, depending on their type of membership.
