Before we gather around the table and chow down on Thanksgiving meals, local teams will be in action on the basketball court and wrestling mats.
The first in-county matchup of basketball season will take place in the Valley Tuesday night as the Wildcats host the Hiwassee Dam Eagles. The boys game will be their first meeting, as both teams are defending conference champions.
Despite school not being in session, lessons will be learned on the wrestling mat Wednesday morning as Andrews, Murphy and Hayesville will converge for the Wild West Duals in Andrews.
On Black Friday, the Murphy Bulldogs football team will be shopping for a trip to the regional round of the playoffs, as they host Corvian Community in round four.
