After a cloudy and rainy week, the sun finally came out for the Far West Shootout, which took place Saturday at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Shooting Range in Marble. More than 250 students from seven middle schools and seven high schools competed, including from Andrews Middle and Andrews High schools. Andrews Middle took first place in the team archery event, with Conner Sentz being the top individual in the event and Kaleb Smith taking first place across the three disciplines (archery, rifle and shotgun). For Andrews High, Boone Parker placed first in archery.
