    William “Bill” Howard, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021.
    Bill was a mechanical contractor and owner of Vista Plumbing before retiring in 1983 to Murphy.
    He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a past member of Cherokee Hills Golf Course for over 30 years where he shot his age when he was 72 and shot an 82 when he was 84 years old. He had a hole-in-one in Orlando and two at Cherokee Hills.
    He was the son of the late Cornelius and Gladys Howard of Indiana, and husband of the late Dottie Buzzaird Howard, who died April 11, 2017. He was one of eight siblings, Archie Howard, Arnold Howard, Kip Howard, Manuel Howard, Joyce Petry, Willa Carender and Sue Reeves.
    Left to cherish his memory are his son, Randy Howard of St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughter, Denise Mallin of Washington, D.C.; and two grandsons, Jacob and Jeremy Mallin.
    Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Chester Jones officiating. Pallbearers were Phil Evans, Fred Carson, Mike Stevenson and Mark Stalcup. The family requested that those who attended wear a mask.
