Wayne Beavers, 82, of Murphy, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga., following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 30, 1939, in Murphy to the late Herman and Sarah Sneed Beavers.
Wayne had worked several years at Wilson’s Building Supply. He loved just getting out and riding around. Wayne had been a preacher for many years.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Wayne was a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marceline Beavers of Murphy; a brother, Harley (Ruth) Beavers of Murphy; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Mountain View Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyt Brown officiating. Music was by the Wilson Family. Pallbearers were Chris Beavers, Jaron Beavers, Thomas Beavers, Darrin Ingram, Greg Ingram and Eric West. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Beavers and Marvin Adams. Interment followed in Bellview Community Cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bellview Community Cemetery, c/o Johnny Beavers, 155 Glenn Stalcup Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of arrangements.
