Violet Hembree

    Violet Bonita Hembree of Goose Creek, S.C., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020.
    Violet was born in Cherokee County on March 12, 1940.
    She was married to James L. Hembree on Aug. 22, 1959.
    Violet was a loving mother and grandmother to all children, as she loved working with children in her many years of child-care services and volunteering at Alpha Crisis Pregnancy Center.
    Violet is survived by her husband, James, and their three children, James Gregory, Gary and Connie; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geniva Connley and Jane Phillips; one brother, Eddie Phillips; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Carolyn Hembree; and many other family and friends.
    She would want you to rejoice, for she is finally free.
    “When her mind failed her, her heart never did.”
    The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Simplicity Burial Services in Ladson, S.C.
