    Vera Mae Bond, 84, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.
    She was a resident of Cherokee County, and the daughter of Edward and Margaret Cleo Carter
Buckner.
    She was a legal secretary for a law firm, a member of the Grape Creek Homemakers Club and a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church, where she grew up playing the piano.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond Bond; a daughter, Penny Jane bond; a brother-in-law, Jim Wheeler; a nephew, Joey Jay Wheeler; two twin sisters and an infant brother.
    Vera is survived by one son, Jeff Bond; a daughter, Debra Pollard and husband Alan of Grass Lake, Mich.; one sister, JoAnn Wheeler of Kettering, Ohio; four grandchildren, Nickolas Sears, Alexander Sears, Darrin Bond and wife Hilary and Kimberly Ledford and husband Tyler; and three great-grandchildren, Noah Sears, Roman Sears and Abigail Bond.
    A private graveside service will be held at Grape Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Aud Brown will officiate.
    For the safety of family and friends during this Covid-19 pandemic, the family has decided to hold a memorial service at a later date.
