    Thelma Stiles McDonald, better known to family and friends as “Dean," 85, of Murphy, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at Murphy Rehab and Nursing Home.
    Mrs. McDonald was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Cherokee County, to the late Ernest Stiles and Icey Payne Stiles.
    She was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, and had retired after 44 years of working for Clifton Precision Machine, Norfolk Grumman and Moog.  
    Dean loved listening to gospel music on WKRK and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Wilford “Will” McDonald; son-in-law, Billy Harbin; brother, Lloyd Stiles; and sister, Wilma Seabolt.
    Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Harbin; granddaughter, Amy (Marty) Jones; grandson, Nathan (Kristie) Harbin; great-grandchildren, C.J. Jones, Luke Harbin, Jake Harbin and Hadlee Harbin; three sisters, Alma (Jack) Ivey, Jeri Holbrooks, Doris (Richard) Roberson; and sister-in-law, Maggie Stiles.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Eddis Dockery and Richard Roberson officiating. Music was by Lisa Roberson. Interment followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marty Jones, C.J. Jones, Luke Harbin, Nathan Harbin, Kevin Roberson and Don Stiles. Honorary pallbearer was Ronnie Roger.
    The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy.
    Arrangements were entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy.
