Shirley M. Williams, 74, of Columbia, Ky., died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
She was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Murphy to the late Thad and Nessie McTaggart Laney.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Williams of Columbia, Ky.; two sons, Keith Williams and Tony Williams, both of Murphy; two daughters, Angela Williams-Geer of Murphy, and Sharon Williams-Odom of Hookerton, N.C.; a multitude of children who had adopted her as their mother; three brothers – Cowboy Laney of Tennessee, Bobby Laney and Denny Laney, both of Murphy; one sister, Carol Rogers of Murphy; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are either biological, adopted or just claimed her as Granny Williams.
Her home-going service was held at noon Wednesday, April 28, at Haven Mission Independent Church in Columbia with burial following in Columbia Cemetery, carried to her gravesite by her family.
Visitation was held after 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the church.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, Columbia, Ky., was in charge of arrangements.
