Shirley Patricia Griffith Aldridge Jones Deyton, 88, of Marble, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022.
She was born Nov. 25, 1933, in Graham County, to the late W.C. and Annie Jordan Griffith of Andrews.
Shirley graduated from Robbinsville High School. She was formerly employed as a secretary at Marble Elementary School.
Shirley was a member of Marble Springs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and served her church faithfully.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Aldridge of Andrews, Willis Jones of Andrews, and Gordon Deyton of Marble.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Aldridge Triplett (Tom) of Hickory; one son, Kent Aldridge (Paula) of Marion; one grandson, Mitchell Aldridge of Marion; and two great-grandsons, Connor and Blake Aldridge of Marion.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Marble Springs Baptist Church in Marble. The Rev. John Bailey officiated.
The family received friends from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Marble Springs Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marble Springs Baptist Church, P.O. Box 264, Marble, NC 28905 in memory as a thank you for all the love and support shown during her illness.
