Sallie Madalene Toney, 72, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, Ga., following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 14, 1949, in Marble to the late Ernest and Allene Ashley Bowers.
She loved her children and grandchildren. She also loved birds, animals and flowers.
Mrs. Toney was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Ray Bowers, Raymond Bowers, Tommy Bowers, Hubert Ashley Bowers and Larry Bowers; sisters, Mary Nell Bowers and Carol Bowers.
Survivors include her children and husband, David Toney of Murphy; Denise Moore of Blue Ridge, Ga., Tina and Chad Wooten of Williamsport, Tenn., and Bobby and Stephanie Burrell Thrasher of Murphy; brothers, R.L. and Sandy Bowers of Dalton, Ga., and J.D. Bowers; grandchildren, Dillon Bryant, Jadrinne Bryant, Nukeda Moore, Bradley Wooten, Arianna Key and Megan Thrasher; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kinsley, Jonah, Kimber, Kayleigh, Hagun, Keagan and Carter.
A visitation service was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Mountain View Funeral Home, Blairsville, Ga., with the Rev. Timmy Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, make memorial donations to her grandchildren.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of the arrangements.
