Ruby Faye Hedden Collier, 78, of Murphy, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022.
She was born in Cherokee County to the late Rufus and Nettie Dockery Carter.
Ruby loved working in her flowers, playing with her great-grandchildren, playing bingo and playing A-Mart shopping. She was a fan of watching football and the Atlanta Braves Baseball team. Her favorite pastime was listening to gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hedden; and her brothers, Howard Carter, Henry Carter and Ross Carter.
Ruby is survived by her son, Ralph Hedden and wife Mary Jo; daughter, Dianne Chastain and husband Robert; sister, Frankie Hughes; grandsons, Jason Chastain and wife Hillary and Justin Chastain; and two great-grandchildren, twins Alexis and Aiden Chastain.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Second Baptist Church in Murphy. The Revs. Ralph Barnard and Calvin Murphy officiated.
The family received friends from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Second Baptist Church.
