    Robert M. Taylor, 79, of Andrews, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021.
    He was a native of Marion County, Tenn., and lived in Stevenson, Ala., before moving to Andrews in 1974.
    Robert managed dime stores for several years and worked for both Higdon and Crisp Construction. Robert later formed Taylor Trucking and continued to haul for himself as owner and operator until retirement.
    Robert enjoyed working on his vehicles and attending tractor shows. He was also a talented woodworker, but his four granddaughters were his pride and joy.
    Robert was a member and deacon of Andrews First Baptist Church. He was a founding member of the kids food bag ministry and served as assistant Sunday School superintendent.
    He was a member of Andrews Civitan Club, Andrews CB Club, and had volunteered with Andrews Schools on many fundraising programs.
    He was the son of the late Malcolm Robert Taylor and Lear Jordan Taylor Raines. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Taylor and an infant brother; and sister, Christine Price.
    Surviving are his wife, Nancy McCoy Taylor of Andrews; two daughters, Carrie Beth West and husband Tim of Newnan, Ga., and Sara Marie King and husband Ronnie of Hayesville; four granddaughters, Taylor Michele West, Hannah Karoline West, Bailey Elizabeth King and Taylor Makenzie King; two brothers, James Greene and Henry Raines; four sisters, Charlotte Hepinstall, Willie Mae Clark, Mary Fox and Edie Butcher; one sister-in-law, Judy Taylor; and one brother-in-law, Bill Price. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
    Robert and family would like to extend a thank you to Mountain Home Nursing and staff for the exceptional care Robert received.
    A celebration of Robert’s life will be announced at a later date.
