Robert Louis Brendle, 65, husband of Martha Detter Brendle, died Monday, May 30, 2022, at his home in Sumter, S.C.
Born June 26, 1956, in Murphy, he was a son of the late Bobby Brendle and Betty Lou Rose Brendle.
He was employed for 23 years at Commscope Inc. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years; three sisters, Karen Kephart (Eddie) of Murphy, Susan Simmons (Doug) of Hickory, and Jennifer Evans of Hickory; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Brendle; a sister, Debi Brendle; maternal grandparents, Pat and Elsie Rose; paternal grandparents, Jesse Fred and Betty Brendle; three favorite aunts, Donna Davis, Ann Brendle, Jean Dobson and uncle, Jim Brendle; and his faithful dog, Zoe.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 5, in the chapel of Burke Mortuary in Newton, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at Burke Mortuary.
