Robbie Barton Neill, 88, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Kingston Residence of Hickory.
Robbie was born Feb. 15, 1932, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mamie Barton. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Barton Parris.
Surviving are sons, Edward Neill (Rita) and Lynn Neill (Robin); daughters Joan Neill (Todd) and Myra Neill Johansen; grandchildren, Clay Neill (Donna), Leigh Ross (Drew), Clayton Johansen, Hattie Johansen, Andrew Neill, Hamilton Neill and Ellington Neill; great-grandchildren, Mary Grace Neill, Spencer Neill, Neilly Ross and Charlie Ross. Also surviving are a nephew, Charles Parris Jr. (Judy), and a niece, Patricia Conard (Joseph).
Robbie was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Hickory. She graduated with a degree in education from Lenoir Rhyne University and obtained her master’s degree from Appalachian State University. She was a retired teacher with Catawba County Public Schools.
Robbie was creative, dedicated, loving and kind. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, officiated by Associate Pastor Jennifer Forrester. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
