    Richard Dean Kohler, 56, of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Peachtree.
    He was born April 15, 1965, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to the late Richard and Edna Kohler. He was a resident of Cherokee County most of his life. For the last 28 years, he resided at the ARC group home in Andrews.
    He was affectionately known by his family and friends as Dino.
    He was a hard-working employee at Industrial Opportunities Inc. for many years.
    While his health permitted, he enjoyed attending the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses along with his parents.
    He participated in many events in the Special Olympics, loved to dance, was an avid reader, and was funny and loved to give big hugs.
    His friends extend a special thanks to Jacob Creasman, Evelyn Luther, the rest of the staff at Arc of Andrews, Vaya Health, Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing, the caring nurses at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital and the team members at IOI for their love and care for Richard all these years.
    Due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date via Zoom video conferencing.
