Richard Brown Caldwell, 76, of Family Church Road in Murphy, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at his home with his loving family by his side following an extended illness.
Richard was born March 5, 1943, in Murphy, the son of the late Brown and Rebecca Mauney Caldwell.
He loved hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes.
He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Hayesville.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Ann Caldwell of the home; daughter, Kim and Vaughn Gibson of Murphy; son, Dickie and Jennifer Caldwell of Murphy; grandchildren, Jaderian Ackeman, Chad Caldwell, Brad Caldwell, Tyler Caldwell and Wyndsor Caldwell.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church in Hayesville in Richard’s memory.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
