    The Rev. Howard Clyde Roberts, 95, of Murphy, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at the Medical Center in Decatur, Ga.
    Mr. Roberts was born July 23, 1926, in Robbinsville to the late Daniel Boone Roberts and late Pansey Grindstaff Roberts.
    Howard was a World War II Navy veteran and served as a longtime area pastor for Martin Hill, Hayesville; Pleasant Valley, Murphy; Fairview, Macon, Ga.; Bell Hill, Murphy; and Dry Creek, Graham County.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Roberts; brothers, Dillard Roberts and Glenn
Roberts; and sisters, Harriett McCall and Lynda Hendrik.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary Sneed Roberts; sons, Roger Dale Roberts wife Debbie, and Ronnie Gene Roberts wife Diana; brother, Ray Roberts, seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy, with the Rev. Lawrence English officiating. Music was provided by Bobby Sneed and Kathy Seabolt. Interment followed in Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews. Pallbearers were the following men of Bell Hill Church, Bobby Sneed, Ted Sneed, Timothy Chastain and Richard Hawkins.
