Pearl Roberts

    Pearl Ruth Roberts, 88, of Unaka, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, at her residence.
    She was a native of Cherokee County, where she had worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier.
    Pearl loved flowers, gardening, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    She was the daughter of the late John and Vesta Whitener Beaver, and wife of the late John Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard, Charles and Duel Beaver; and a sister, Lois Garland.
    Surviving are two daughters, Linda Roberts and Teresa Roberts; a son, Aaron Roberts; two sisters, Martha McHan and Earl Johnson; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and five step great-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 10, in Townson-Rose Chapel in Murphy with the Rev. Rondal Brown and Dr. Chester Jones officiating. Burial was in Unaka Baptist Church Cemetery.
    The family received friends from noon-1 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Murphy.
    Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
