    Edythe Patricia “Patsy” Sudderth, 80, of Murphy, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, in a Hayesville care facility.
    She was a native of Brasstown and a graduate of Murphy High School.
    She had lived in Atlanta for 27 years before returning to Murphy in 1988. Patsy worked for Murphy Medical Center over 25 years until retirement.
    She was a member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church and active with the WMU. Patsy was also a professional and gifted seamstress.
    She was the daughter of the late Douglas and Blanche Scroggs Smith, formerly of Brasstown.
    Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Jerry Sudderth; two daughters, Tammy Hamaty and husband Don of Chamblee, Ga., and Cindy Snow of King, N.C.; four grandchildren, Hannah Abdelahad and husband Chris of Gaithersburg, Md., Matthew Hamaty and Caroline Hamaty, both of Chamblee, Ga., and Bryson Snow of King, N.C.
    Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Noah Crowe officiating. Deacons of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The inurnment will take place at a later date in the Scroggs Family Cemetery.  
    The family will receive friends from 2-3:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, prior to the services.
