Patricia “Patty” Stroh Ranger Goodmark, 75, of Florence, Ala., passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at North Alabama Specialty Hospital in Athens, Ala., after an extended illness.
Patty was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Fla. Her first job as a teenager was at Music Manor in West Palm Beach, where she developed a deep love of music. She later worked as a legal assistant. Besides music, she enjoyed traveling, art, cooking and wine.
Patty loved television, especially mysteries, crime series, medical dramas and classic movies. She loved to dance, especially during Iguana Party nights at the former LaFonda’s Mexican restaurant in Florence. She played tennis and snow skied when she was younger and never missed a game of her beloved Miami Dolphins, of which she was once a season ticket holder, and a signed poster of former wide receiver Nat Moore still proudly hangs on a wall in her home.
Patty will be missed for the love and laughter she brought to her family, friends, cats and dogs.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Paul Ranger of Jupiter, Fla., and Dina Cannon of Florence; a sister, Gail Smith and husband Randy of Centennial, Colo.; a brother, Chip Stroh of Florence; a stepmother, Betty J. Stroh of Tehachapi, Calif.; six grandchildren; many nieces, cousins and friends, all whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robby Lee Wernersback of Centennial and E. Alan Stroh of West Palm Beach; and a sister, Cathy Hallgren Davis of Florence, with whom she lived for several years.
