    Patricia Elaine Bowman, 78, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at her home.
    She was the daughter of the late C. Ray and Delma Walker Scroggs.
    Her vocations included being a manager for the Western Sirloin Steak House, a receptionist for Lewis Jones at Nationwide Insurance and for the Murphy Health and Fitness Center. She was also co- owner and operator of Hiawassee Hide-a-way Marina beginning in 1976.
    She was a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church. She was known for having a “servant’s” heart and loved giving her time and talents to the Lord.
    She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Philip Bowman; one son, Phil Bowman and wife Vickie of Murphy; one daughter, Nita Dockery and husband David of Murphy; two brothers, Cliff Scroggs and wife Babs of Williamsburg, Va., and Ronnie Scroggs and wife Eva of Hayesville; four grandchildren, Jonathan Bowman and wife Elesha, Kaitlynn Pope and husband Caleb, Lauren Crowe and husband Alex, and Hailey Bowman; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Pope and Ellis Crowe; several nieces and nephews, and many extended family members, all from Virginia.
    The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Grape Creek Baptist Church, with funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m. The Revs. Steve West and Aud Brown officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Al Lovingood, Max Garrett, Mike Hogsed, Mark Johnson, Eric Ledford and Terry Hall. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Davis, Lewis Jones, Russell Rhodes, Eddie Tanner, Danny Carroll, John Sandidge, Jason Carroll and Maynard Hogsed.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grape Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund, c/o Marvin Shuler, 1340 Grape Creek Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
