    Omer Jeanette Freeman, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, in the home of her loving daughter, Brenda.
    She was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Cleo Mashburn Taylor.
    Omer was a homemaker and loved her family.
    She enjoyed the outdoors, especially “porch sitting” and listening to the branch.
    She always had a big smile to give away and brought joy to all who knew her.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Freeman; three sons, Ronnie, Clifton and Marvin Freeman; one daughter, Patricia Jane Dockery; five brothers, Stanley, Walter, Winston, Roy and Lincoln Taylor; two sisters, Rosalee Jenkins and Loretta Taylor; and two sons-in-law, Jimmy Queen and Robert Dockery.
    She is survived by three sons, Tommy Freeman of Taylorsville, Jeffrey Freeman of Marble, and J.L. Freeman of the Nantahala community; two daughters, Brenda Sue Ball and husband Clyde of Murphy and Annie Queen of Blue Ridge, Ga.; two brothers, Avery and V.C. Taylor; three sisters, Bonnie Lou Marion, Marcella Bryant and Leona Bundy; 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Townson-Rose Chapel of Andrews. Pastor Harold Stiles officiated. Burial was at Rock Church Cemetery in Swain County. Pallbearers were William Freeman, Deric Freeman, Shannon Taylor, Cameron Traub, Isaac Traub, Gregg Traub and James May.
    The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Townson-Rose Chapel of Andrews.
