    Newell Roger Wooten, 84, of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at his residence.
    Newell was a member of McClelland Cove Baptist Church, and he loved the Lord.
    Newell had operated Wooten Thick & Thin Sawmill for most of his life. He had made many good friends and customers over the years.
    He was the son of the late Adam and Pawnee Rogers Wooten. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Coleman and Opal Adams; and three brothers, Robert, Woody and Oliver “Red” Wooten.
    Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Barbara Jean Rogers Wooten; a daughter, Suzzie Martin of Andrews; a son, Roger Wooten of Andrews; two sisters, Rosa Crawford and husband Phillip, and Stella Ledford and husband Lamar, all of Andrews; and many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, with the Revs. Bo Phillips and James Patterson officiating. The interment was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jamie, Josh, John and Adam Wooten, Rocky Davis and Ed Holloway. Dr. James Vollmer served as honorary pallbearer.
    The family received friends from 2-2:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the services.

    Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of all arrangements.
