Michael Sneed, 47, of Murphy, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital.
Mr. Sneed was born Oct. 28, 1973, in Murphy to Kathy L. Sneed and the late Bobby L. Garland.
A lifelong resident of the Murphy area, he was of the Christian faith and enjoyed spending time outside.
In addition, Michael was a former owner of Mika’s Pizza in Hayesville.
His father, Bobby L. Garland; sister, Paula Killian; maternal grandparents, Leonard and Dollie Sneed; uncles, Raymond Shields and Mitchell Sneed preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Kathy L. Sneed; aunt Joyce Shields; aunt and uncle, Judy and Max Patterson; uncle and aunt, Steve and Sherri Sneed; aunt, Marion Sneed; and several cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, Murphy, with Pastor Phillip Cochran officiating. Music was provided by Stephanie Murphy, Brannon, Mark and Greg Elliott. Interment followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Jeff Shields, Mitchell Sneed Jr., Eric Sneed, Stephen Sneed, Christopher Sneed, Brian Sneed, Gary Derreberry and Trent Wilson.
The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy.
