Mary Ann Brown

   Mary Ann Brown, 97 of Andrews passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at her residence.
   She was born Nov. 8, 1924 to the late John Bunyan and Bessie Moore and was the wife of 49 years to the late Carroll Brown, who died Sept. 6. 1994.
   She faithfully attended Valleytown Baptist Church for over 70 years, where she also sang in the choir. She loved many and was loved by many.
   In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dan Brown; and four sisters and three brothers.
   Surviving are six children, Howard Brown and wife Debbie of Andrews, Van Brown and wife Karen of Lenoir, Terry Brown and wife Catie of Murphy, Jeff Brown and wife Kim of Healdsburgh, Calif., Lisa Madden of Asheville, and Rodney Brown and wife Amy of Murphy; a sister Patricia Jabley of Hixson, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Valleytown Cemetery with the Rev. Marlon Blaylock officiating. Pallbearers were Brandon Brown, Andy Helton, Mark Brown, Adam Brown, Robert Brown, Donald Worrell, Andrew Madden and Brooks Brown. The family requested that those who attended wear a mask.
   In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. ALSAC/Saint Jude
