    Martha Ann Booe Carroll, 81, of Murphy, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.
    She was born Feb. 19, 1940, in Winston-Salem to the late Luther and Vassie Williams Booe.
    Martha worked at Clifton Precision.
    In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball as a pitcher. Martha loved camping, taking long walks on the beach, was an animal lover and loved painting pictures. She enjoyed listening to the Pressley Gospel Group out of Branson, Mo., and Rory and Joey Feek.
    Martha was family oriented; she was a huge supporter of kids and grandkids’ sports activities. She was a caregiver to many in her community and was always willing to help her family and friends. Martha loved Facebook; she was able to keep up with all her family and friends.
    She was a member of Peachtree Church of Christ and was very faithful to her Lord and church.
    She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Carroll; daughter, Belinda Gaddis (Randy) of Murphy; son, Jimmy Carroll (Ann) of Murphy; son, Scott Carroll (Judy) of Hayesville; daughter, Edwina “Peanut” Rogers (David) of Hayesville; one brother, Alton Booe of Winston-Salem; one sister, Nancy Worell of Winston-Salem; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at Peachtree Church of Christ. Family and friends gave a eulogy. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin and Derick Gaddis, Michael Carroll, Robert Rogers, McKensie, Spencer, Ryan and Levi Gentle. Honorary pallbearer was Alan Chambers.
    The family received friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
    The family respectively recommended that all wear a mask for visitation and funeral services.
