Thomas Mark Mintz, 69, of Marble, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2022, at his home.
He was the son of the late Jack and Marie Mintz of Andrews.
Mark was a beloved fourth grade teacher at Andrews Elementary School where he taught math and science in the same classroom for 28 years.
He was an adult Sunday school teacher and choir director at Marble Springs Baptist Church for more than 40 years.
Mark loved gardening, gospel music, fishing and his family.
Mark is deeply missed by his loving wife, Laurie Davis Mintz, of 44 years; his son, Justin Mintz and wife Candace of Nantahala; his daughter, Shanna Mustin and husband Matt of Andrews; his daughter, and Brittany Stiles and husband Michael of Hiwassee Dam. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Mintz and wife Joan of Andrews; and his sister, Karla Orton and husband Steve of Ranger. Mark adored his 11 grandchildren, Chloe, Addison, Myca, Mattie, Sadie, Isabella, Jackson, Ridge, Cora, Cole and Cadance.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Marble Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. John Bailey officiating. Mark was laid to rest at Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Mintz, Zack Orton, Rogan Orton, Jared Orton, Lyle Brown and Gary Morgan.
The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Marble Springs Baptist Church prior to the services.
