    Mary “Maggie” Leen Dockery Davis, 95, of Murphy, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021.
    Born Dec. 29, 1925, she was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Columbus “Whitcom” and Eva (Crowder) Dockery.
    Maggie was a homemaker and babysat for several families in the area.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Dale Davis, who died on Nov. 13, 2018; a grandson, Jamie Calvin Davis; grandson-in-law, Donald Palmer; her brothers, Arie, Verlon, Oscar, Glen, Ralph and Ervin Dockery; and her sisters, Vennah Sneed, Lexie Floyd, Nola Cook, Alma Pack, Claudia Stowe and Minnie Hensley.
    She is survived by three daughters, Jonnie (Tobe) Davis, Opal (Ab) Radford, and Debbie (Steve) McDonald, all of the Murphy area; seven grandkids, Dedra Davis, Sandy Ledford, Brian Davis, Tracy Palmer, Tim Radford, Adam Radford and Robin Anderson. Also, sharing in her legacy are 14 great-grandkids, Corey Baker, Alyson Palmer, Adria Jones, Gavin Davis, Elijah Davis, Luke Davis, Kaitlyn Davis, Kaiden Davis, Toby Davis, Mason Radford, Amelia Radford, Jonah Graves, Tyler Anderson and Diana Rose Anderson.
    Maggie’s hobbies were working in her garden, flowers and sewing. She also loved her family, her church, her dog and her bees.
    Maggie was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
    She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
    Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Eddis Dockery officiating. Special music was presented by Donna Cook. Gentlemen selected to serve as pallbearers were Corey Baker, Tim Radford, Steve McDonald, Brian Davis, Jim Anderson and Loren Jones.
    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery Fund: Upper Section, 3522 Hanging Dog Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
