    Louise Arella Stephens Reid, 82, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2020.
    She was born in Towns County, Ga., but lived in Murphy most of her life.
    She is the daughter of the late Robert John and Violet Chastain Stephens.
    She attended Fields of the Wood Church of God of Prophecy.
    She worked close to 30 years at Levi’s as a sewing machine operator.
    Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her two grandsons, both of whom she was extremely proud. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden with her husband and going on day trips with him almost every Saturday.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Luther Stephens and Kenneth Stephens; and four sisters, Imogene McCray, Doris Garrett, Effie Cohran,and Ella Fay Wellen.
    She is survived by her husband, Jack Dillard Reid; her daughter, Deborah Reid and husband Robert; and her grandsons, Trevor and Evan Reid.
    Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Gerald Mann officiated. Burial was at Reid’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian, Erik, Joey, Adam, Trevor and Evan Reid.
    The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
