Linda Faye Ledford, 81, of Murphy, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at her residence.
She was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County.
She most recently worked as a teacher’s aide with special needs children at Southwestern Child Development.
She was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Lester Arvil and Effie Beatrice Graves Ledford, and wife of the late William Frank Ledford, who died April 30, 2006. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Ricky and Brandon Ledford; and a brother, Kenny Arvil Ledford.
Surviving are a daughter, Carrol “Sissy” Ledford of Hiwassee Dam; a son, Phillip “Bit” Ledford and wife Annette of Hiwassee Dam; a sister, Gayle Bryant and husband Jackie of Murphy; two brothers, William Leroy Ledford and wife Ruby of Cleveland, Tenn., and Billy Ray Ledford and wife Linda of Hiwassee Dam; seven grandchildren, Jared Ledford and wife Elaina, Jack Nikrasch, Carrie White and husband Ray, Casey Young and wife Amanda, Brad Ledford and wife Lisa, Josh Ledford and wife Kelly, and Heath Ledford; nine great-grandchildren, Nathan, Weston and Braiden Ledford, Jamison and Ally Ledford, Kaylea and Eli White, and Ava and Stella Young; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Revs. Brad Ledford and Josh Ledford officiating. The interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Casey Young, Ray White, Shannon Helton, Brian Ledford, Scott Ledford and Jeff Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Ledford, Jamison Ledford, Weston Ledford, Braiden Ledford and Eli White.
The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, prior to the services.
