Larry Elton McTaggart, 52, of White Oak Road in Blairsville, Ga., passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, in the Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital of Murphy following a brief illness.
Larry was born May 12, 1969, in Atlanta, Ga., the son of the late Howard Ralph and Annette (Williams) McTaggart.
He was a member of New Life Family Church in Blairsville, Ga.
Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Amelia and Charles Brickey of Murphy; one brother, Nathan J. Brickey and fiancee Rebia Gates of Blairsville; three nieces; Michelle and Brad Dodson of Blairsville, Taylor and Wes Strickland of Eastman, Ga., Tanya and Jerome Walker of Mars Hill; as well as several aunts, uncles and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, from the Mountain View Chapel with the Revs. Don Parmely and Noah Crowe officiating. Special music was presented by Montrece Hardin. Interment followed in Sweetwater Methodist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Jerome Walker, Tyler Lambert, Zachary McTaggart, Matthew McTaggart and Brad Dodson.
The family met with friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home.
Flowers are being accepted or if you wish the family requests that donations be made to the Towns-Union Volunteers in Larry’s memory.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of the arrangements.
