    Katherine Elizabeth LaMothe, 82, of Murphy, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022.
    She was born in Pawtucket, R.I. and was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Dohring and Ruth Agnes Jones Dohring.
    Katherine was a Sunday School teacher at Grace Baptist Church in Attleboro, Mass., and was a nurse’s aide, caring for special needs children at Wrentham State School in Massachusetts. She was also a guidance counselor for children in Portsmouth Bible Camp in Rhode Island.
    Above all else, Katherine was a very dedicated mother and homemaker who helped raise her six siblings, her own children and her grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 58 years, Thomas R. LaMothe; a sister, Linda Godfrey; and a grandson, Jase Kanger.
    She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Brown of Murphy and Kimberly McPherson and husband Kerry of Astor, Fla.; two sons, Thomas R. LaMothe Jr. and wife Shirley of Murphy, and Richard LaMothe and wife Nancy of DeLeon Spring, Fla.; siblings Charles Dohring and wife Linda of Huntsville, Ala., Priscilla Parent and husband Joe of Attleboro, Mass., Susan May and husband Carl of Murphy, William Dohring of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Timothy Dohring and wife Kathie of Hiram, Maine. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service with Holy Eucharist will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Murphy with the Rev. Dr. Maggie Rourke, Celebrant.
