    Joyce Sawyer Hardin, 92, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022.
    She was a native and lifetime resident of Andrews.  
    Joyce had worked at Berkshires for seven years and continued working there for the Lee Company for another eight years. She also worked for District Memorial Hospital for eight years.  
    Joyce enjoyed spending summers at her daughters’ lake houses in Big Choga with her family and friends. She loved quilting and was very talented at it.
    Joyce was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church and attended Valleytown and later Mountain View Baptist Church.
    She was the daughter of the late Albert Theodore and Ida Katherine Cable Sawyer, and wife of the late A.V. Hardin, who died Feb. 1, 2016. She is also preceded in death by one great-grandson, James Michael Joyner; three sisters, Edna Garland, Vida Crisp and Thelma Easler, and two brothers, Lester and Earl Sawyer.
    She is survived by two daughters, Janet Edwards of Andrews and Phyllis Joyner of Asheville; three grandsons, Timothy and Randy Joyner, and Larry Lovingood Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Brooke and Heather Lovingood, and Samuel Joyner.
    Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at the Valleytown Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Hardin officiating. Music will be provided by Lizabeth Campbell. Pallbearers will be Larry Lovingood Jr., Randy Joyner, Tim Joyner, Conner Lovingood  and Jon Shannon.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, is in charge of arrangements.
