Joy Hope Moore, 95, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, at Erlanger Western Carolina Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 27, 1925, to the late W.T. and Mildred Martin Moore in Cherokee County. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Amy Moore, who cared for Joy most of her life; three brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include a sister, Grace Morrow (Hank); a brother, Kenneth Moore (Bonnie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joy was a member of First Baptist Church of Andrews. In her early years she loved to read. In her later years, as her sight became worse, she listened to her favorite radio station, WKRK.
Visitation was held at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, with services following at 11 a.m. The Rev. Eugene Taylor officiated. Burial was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark, Brian, David, Josh, Kenneth and Tanner Moore.
