Johnny Payne, 75, of Murphy, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
He had worked as an auto mechanic.
Johnny was born in Cherokee County to the late Clarence and Lola Taylor Payne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Janice Payne and Mark Payne; two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Freda Payne; children, Sondra Payne (Brandon Graham), Sharon Oliver (Kenneth) and Kendall Phillips; daughter-in-law, Holly Payne; special nephew, Randall Payne; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandsons; three sisters, Carolyn Duncan (David), Edna Duncan (Jake) and Ann Payne; a brother, Roy Payne (Carolyn); several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Kristy Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Preston Mashburn officiating.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
