    John Clinton Brock, 80, of Andrews, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022.  
    He was a native of Tampa, Fla., but had lived most of his life in Clearwater, Fla.
    John attended the University of Tampa and later graduated from Gupton Jones Mortuary College.
    He worked for Blount Funeral Home in Tampa, Fla. John then pursued a career working on diesel engines on ships, vessels and boats. He founded Brock’s Engine Service Incorporated, which he owned and operated for nearly 50 years until retirement.
    John then moved to Andrews in 2016 and was a member of Peachtree Methodist Church, but currently attended Andrews First Baptist Church.
    John loved to fly, and owned a plane, and was an accomplished Eagle Scout. He also enjoyed drag racing and drove super gas class cars in the NHRA racing circuit.
    He was the son of the late Francis Lennard and Betty Jane Cross Brock. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Ray Lawson; and a nephew, Billy Brock.
    Surviving are his wife, Johnnie Anderson Brock of 40 years; one daughter, Jenelle Brock of Birmingham, Ala.; three sons, John C. Brock II of Brandon, Fla., Justin H. Brock and wife, Nicole of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Jared L. Brock of Dunedin, Fla.; one brother, Bill Brock and wife Clara Mae Huskins of Marble; one granddaughter, Abigail; three nieces, Marcia, Dawn and Jane Brock.
    A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Andrews First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Calvin Bobo and Dick Richards officiating. The family received friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of John Clinton Brock, Gideons International, P.O. Box 164, Murphy, NC 28906.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of all arrangements.
