Joe Eddie Phillips, 77, of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, in a Murphy care facility.
Joe was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, where he worked as a finisher at Baker Furniture.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Valleytown Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late James Otis and Nellie Grindstaff Phillips. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Jean Thompson, Janet West, Joanne Lackey and Violet Hembree; and one brother, Cecil A. Phillips.
Surviving are two sisters, Geneva Conley and Jane Phillps, both of Andrews; and several nieces and
nephews.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with the Rev. Darren Garland officiating. Interment was in Valleytown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 1-1:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home prior to the service.
Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of arrangements.
