    Jimmy Ray Wright, 53, of Murphy, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021.  
    He was a native and lifelong resident of Murphy.
    Jimmy had worked several years at Levi’s prior to its closing. He then worked for City Lock for over 20 years as a locksmith.
    Jimmy loved his church family and was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and served as an usher and a newly appointed trustee.
    He was a past member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and had a love for the outdoors and trout fishing. He was the grillmaster at most cookouts and enjoyed mowing grass.
    Jimmy truly loved his family and grandbabies.
    He was the son of Joyce Seabolt Wright of Murphy and the late Nick Wright.  
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Adena Gibby and husband Randy of Murphy; a stepson, David Worley of Hayesville; four grandchildren, Codie and Caileigh Burnette, and Cambria and Colbie Gibby; two sisters, Cindy Buchanan and husband Dwayne, and Marilyn Morrill and husband Alan, all of Murphy; one brother, Trent Wright and wife Debbie of Enfield, Conn.; two nieces, Missy Benjamin and husband Tim, and Kristin Wright; and a nephew, Nicholas Wright. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
    Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Eddis Dockery officiating.
    Interment will be in Hiawassee Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Randy Gibby, Dwayne Buchanan, Trent Wright, Dennis Earwood, Mike Worley and Mike Bryant.
    The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, prior to the service.
    The family asks that masks be worn for the visitation and service.
