     Jerry Dean Postell, 77, of Andrews, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021.
    He was a native of the Red Marble community, a graduate of Andrews High School and a member of Red Marble Baptist Church.
    Jerry was born Oct. 23, 1943. He was the son of the late Marvin and Grace Postell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Postell; sister, Kathy Sue Postell; an infant brother and a brother-in-law, Larry West.
    Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly Nelms Postell; a son, Jason Postell and wife Amy of Robbinsville; a daughter, Katy Postell Dearth and husband Bryan of Highlands; grandchildren, Reece Postell (Morgan), Locklie Postell (Dillan), J.J. Postell and Corena Deaerth; and a great-granddaughter, Mila Postell.
    He also left behind his brothers and sisters: Mildred Trantham (L.M.) of Rising Sun, Md., Helen West, Lonnie Postell (Martha), Otis Postell and a sister-in-law, Shirley Postell, all of Andrews.
    Jerry had many nieces and nephews that were very special to him. Many will remember Jerry as a friend, coach or a boss from Stanley Furniture.
    Everyone knew he loved to hunt and fish. He loved sports, especially Tar Heels basketball. He loved camping and spending time with his family.
    His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jerry loved people and life.
    Although he will be dearly missed on this Earth, he is now living his best life in heaven with his Lord and Savior.
    Memorial services will be held at Sunday, Sept. 5, at Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m.
