    Jerry Allen Bauguss, 82, of Kings Mountain, went into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Atrium Health in Charlotte.
    A native of Wilkes County, he was the son of the late Roy and Deby Johnson Bauguss.
    Jerry graduated from West Wilkes High School and served in the National Guard.
    He attended Winston-Salem Barber School and became a Licensed Master Barber in the states of North Carolina and Tennessee. He later served as vice president of sales and marketing at Sturdivant Life Insurance Co./G.E. Capital.  
    Jerry was a former resident of Murphy, Asheville and Wilkesboro.
    He was an avid golfer, reader, Sunday school teacher, Mason and a gifted conversationalist. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling with his wife and spending time with family.  
    He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a man who was strong in his Christian faith.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Max Bauguss, and wife Daphine; sisters, Betty Jean Caldwell and husband Jimmy, and Marlene Dancy and husband Carl; and brother-in-law, Clay Mastin.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Nancy Mills Bauguss, of Kings Mountain; daughter, Cherise Bauguss of Wilkesboro; step-daughter, Lauri Deese and husband Mark of Kings Mountain; stepson, Will Speed of Philadelphia; sisters, Patsy Mastin of Millers Creek, N.C., and Judy Elleage and husband Steve of Purlear, N.C.; grandchildren, Autumn Church Stoker and husband Jordy, and Gus Smith; great-grandchildren, Harper Smith and Emily Stoker; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur baby, Benji Boy.  
    A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at Miller Funeral Service, North Wilkesboro.
