    Jack Dillard Reid, 87, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021.
    Jack had lived most of his life in Cherokee County, and was the son of the late Crede and Mamie Floyd Reid.
    He had worked in several places including Ohio, New Hampshire and Atlanta. He had many stories to tell of driving all over Atlanta with his late brother, Clyde, delivering building materials.
    Jack enjoyed his grandsons, NASCAR Racing and his retirement.
    He attended Fields of the Wood Church of God of Prophecy and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Stephens Reid; a sister, Nancy Henderson; and a brother, Clyde Reid.
    Jack is survived by his daughter, Deborah Reid and husband Robert; brothers, Louis Reid and Bill Reid; and grandsons, Trevor Reid and Evan Reid.
    A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. The Rev. Gerald Mann officiated. Burial was at Reids Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Trevor Reid, Brian Reid, Adam Reid, Joey Reid, Wayne Stiles and Ray Hamby.
    The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
