    Iva Owenby Queen, 84, of Andrews, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
    She was a native of the Nantahala community in neighboring Macon County, and the daughter of the late William and Ruby Dills Owenby.
    She worked at Southern Seating Company in High Point prior to moving back to this area where she worked on the assembly line at Clifton Precision until she retired.
    Iva enjoyed crocheting and reading. She loved going to church and was a strong and faithful Christian.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bobby Lance Queen Jr.; one son, Kevin Queen; and one brother, Kenneth Hoyt Owenby.
    She is survived by one son, Billy Queen and wife Loretta; one daughter, Nancy Vernon and husband Don; four brothers, Darrell, Ralph, Paul and Boyce Owenby; two sisters, Gail Craven and Kaye Postell; four grandchildren, Jennifer Moore, April Wagoner, Derrick Queen and Gloria Torres; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Bethel Hill Baptist Church in Nantahala. The Revs. Eugene Taylor and Derrick Queen will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Moore, Derrick Queen, Jason Owenby, Zach Torres, Curtis Moore and Tanner Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Postell, Kevin Craven, Danny Craven, Greg Passmore and Josh Postell.
    The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
